PLThirty editions, hundreds of inspiring presentations, and thousands of participants. A special event is ahead of us – the 30th anniversary edition of the conference organized by StatSoft. To mark this milestone, the well-known conference “Applications of Statistics and Data Mining in Scientific Research” is taking on a new name – StatSoft Analytics Summit: From Statistics to AI.
The new name highlights the growing importance of modern tools supporting the work of today’s researchers at various stages of the scientific research process. Classical statistical methods remain the foundation of analysis and inference, while machine learning and AI-based data analysis methods are playing an increasingly important supporting role. The anniversary edition will show how these areas can be effectively combined – from sound research methodology to the practical use of AI in the work of researchers.
The conference program will feature presentations by researchers from a variety of scientific disciplines, who will showcase interesting research projects and demonstrate how modern analytics can help address complex research questions.
Among the invited speakers are:
- Professor Aleksander Astel, PhD, DSc, Eng. (Pomeranian University in Słupsk), who will discuss the opportunities, benefits, and risks associated with the use of artificial intelligence in empirical research – from data preparation to inference;
- Marlena Białecka, PhD, presenting the practical application of research methodology and statistics in speech and language therapy, based on her doctoral research;
- Maja Kępniak, PhD, Eng. (Warsaw University of Technology), who will explore whether AI models can “understand” concrete and support materials analysis using machine learning;
- Grzegorz Migut, PhD (StatSoft), presenting the use of artificial intelligence at every stage of the research process – from the initial idea to scientific publication;
- Damian Mikulski, PhD (Medical University of Łódź), who will present the application of miRNA biomarker analysis to predict treatment outcomes and complications following transplantation;
- Janusz Wątroba, PhD (StatSoft), discussing practical applications of hierarchical mixed-effects models.
There will be plenty of new content as well! Conference participants will have the opportunity to see how data analytics and artificial intelligence are being used in business and industry to solve real-world problems, and how similar approaches can be applied to scientific research projects. There will also be surprises and competitions with attractive prizes.
