Professor Ryszard Tadeusiewicz awarded the title of honorary professor of AGH University of Krakow!

On July 5, we had the great honor and pride of attending the ceremony granting the title of honorary professor of AGH to professor Ryszard Tadeusiewicz.
This exceptional event, to which we were personally invited by the professor himself, gathered his friends and close collaborators — it was a true privilege to be part of this distinguished group!

Professor Tadeusiewicz was awarded this title for his outstanding scientific achievements, particularly for his contributions to the development of biocybernetics and biomedical engineering, as well as medical informatics and artificial intelligence — both in scientific research and in educating future generations. He was also recognized for his dedication and consistency in promoting holistic engineering education at AGH.

Professor Tadeusiewicz is undoubtedly one of the most prominent scientists in Poland, holding as many as 14 honorary doctorates. His academic accomplishments are remarkable, but equally significant is his personality.

While serving as rector of AGH, professor Tadeusiewicz always found time — despite his many responsibilities — to conduct training sessions for our course participants. Always punctual, incredibly organized and precise, he passionately shared his vast knowledge. To this day, he continues to lead our training sessions on neural networks.

At StatSoft, we have been working with professor Tadeusiewicz for over 25 years, primarily in the field of neural networks, but also more broadly in promoting science and biomedical engineering. Professor Tadeusiewicz is also a reviewer of Andrzej Stanisz’s book series, “An Accessible Course in Statistics Using STATISTICA PL with Medical Examples,” which is available in our catalog and serves as a statistical knowledge base for many researchers. Our joint work on the Polish version of Statistica Neural Networks, which became an integral part of the Statistica software, is just one of our many shared achievements.

Professor Tadeusiewicz’s impact on the development of computer science and artificial intelligence in Poland is invaluable, a fact emphasized during the AGH ceremony. As stated by Ryszard Sroka, PhD, an associate professor and dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering:
“According to the book of traditions of AGH, the title of honorary professor is the highest distinction the university can bestow upon its staff, in recognition of their exceptional achievements in scientific, educational, organizational, and social activities. There is no need to convince anyone that in all these areas, professor Ryszard Tadeusiewicz’s accomplishments are truly exceptional.”

We are proud of our long-standing collaboration with professor Ryszard Tadeusiewicz and warmly congratulate him on receiving the prestigious title of honorary professor of AGH.
